USO Northwest's Helping Hands Program provides funds to assist military units to afford recreational, entertainment and morale building activities for their units and family members stationed in the Pacific Northwest. USO recognizes the selflessness and dedication that our troops and their families display daily in service to our country.
As a result, USO Northwest established the Helping Hands Program, a unique program developed to support our local military commands with cash awards to help fund their unit's recreational and special event activities when traditional funding sources are not available, or insufficient to cover the entire cost of the activity or event. USO truly believes that Every Moment Counts for our troops and their loved ones and remains steadfast to our mission to create new moments for our military families to cherish for years to come.
Our Helping Hands Program is partially funded through a generous grant of $30,000 from one of USO Northwest's valuable Partners AT&T. The program is also support by the generous contributions the USO Northwest receives through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). 100% of the donations that USO Northwest receives through the CFC goes directly to support our military and their families through our Helping Hands Program.
Last year, USONW's Helping Hands Program served over 89,000 local military and their families through welcome home celebrations, pre-deployment parties, family day picnics, tickets to a ballgame and many more family-focused events. The Pacific Northwest is home to each branch of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard -- and where the miltary serves -- so does the USO!
