USO Puget Sound: Join our volunteer "army of gratitude"

Over 90 percent of our services and events are accomplished through volunteer efforts. That represents almost 27,000 volunteer hours per year. The USO Puget Sound maintains a volunteer base of over 250 individuals from communities around the Puget Sound region who fill a 24-hour, Monday through Sunday schedule. As a private, nonprofit organization, this "army" of volunteers distinguishes our organization and guarantees that donations go directly to serve our men and woman in uniform and their families.

As demands on our local military community grow, so do the needs of America’s soldiers and their families.

Our combined services at the Sea-Tac and McChord AFB Centers, including deployments and homecomings, and our community and family support programs on average reach about 32,168 military members and their families each and every month. In 2008 we more than doubled our impact from 2007, serving 386,017 people with the support and special acts of gratitude that the USO and our volunteers provide. That is a 160 percent increase!

Since 1966, the USO Puget Sound has served over 3 million members of America’s traveling military and their families.
